On July 13, the 11th EU-China Business Summit was held at the Great Hall of the People. Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission attended the summit and delivered speeches. Jiang Zengwei, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), chaired the summit. Themed "Emerging Opportunities for Comprehensive Cooperation in a Changing Industrial Landscape-Upgrading Two-way Investment, Connectivity, and Exploring Synergies between the 'Belt and Road' and EU Flagship Initiatives", the summit brought together over 600 entrepreneurs from China and Europe. Song Zhiping, Chairman of China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM), was invited to the summit and delivered a keynote speech entitled "China and the EU Join Hands to Develop the 'Belt and Road' Market".

Song elaborated on the new development of EU-China cooperation based on the business cooperation between CNBM and EU countries in recent years. He noted that EU-China cooperation has leapt from introduction of technical cooperation to all-round cooperation in medium & high-end fields, and from one-way investment to two-way investment, accomplishing connectivity. CNBM has carried out in-depth international cooperation in fields such as cement, glass, new building materials, new housing and new energy, and developed third-party markets in association with renowned European enterprises. EU-China economic and trade cooperation has become the important prop for the stable growth of the European economy and the global economy. There is huge potential for the development of Chinese and European markets. Hopefully EU countries will treat Chinese enterprises and local enterprises equally to facilitate cooperation and achieve win-win. CNBM will make a greater contribution to cementing EU-China economic and trade cooperation and international industrial capacity cooperation.

The summit was organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the European Commission, and co-organized by institutions such as CCPIT and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. The attendees from Chinese and European business circles had in-depth discussions about the key and hot issues in EU-China economic and trade cooperation. Holding this summit in the context of the "Belt and Road" and "international industrial capacity cooperation" is more significant.
