From September 21 to 23, 2015, as the special envoy of the Chinese government, Mr. Zhang Yi, Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, led a delegation to visit Iran On 22, in the Embassy of PRC in Iran, the delegation held a forum for over 30 Chinese enterprises in Iran, including CNPC, SINOPEC, CASIC, CNMC, etc. As a representative of China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM), CNBM International Engineering Co., Ltd. attended the forum.

During the forum, each enterprise briefly reported their businesses in Iran to the special envoy. After learning the report of each enterprise, Mr. Zhang Yi made an important speech. Firstly, he analyzed the trend that the US tended to exempt Iran from restrictions under the current Iran Nuclear Agreement, and proposed requirements and suggestions for Chinese enterprises. He pointed out, Chinese enterprises in Iran should have firm confidence in the cooperation while keeping senses of crisis, risk and safe production. He advocated that each enterprise should follow the principle of practical cooperation and innovative improvement, and lift their businesses in Iran to a new level. At last, he emphasized that Chinese enterprises should promote the cultural integration between Iran and China, build favorable images of their own in Iran, support local charitable causes, deepen the cooperation with local sides, and create an environment good for the development of enterprises.

On the morning of 23, CNBM International Engineering attended the China-Iran Economic and Trade Fair held in Tehran, Iran, in which about dozens of Chinese and Iranian enterprises participated. As a representative of the Iranian government, Mr. Hazaj,President of China-Iran Industrial and Business School, delivered a speech. He pointed out that the negotiations on the Iran nuclear issues had entered a substantial stage, which was an opportunity for both China and Iran; the volume of bilateral trade between China and Iran reached USD 21 billion, and China had an investment of USD 6 billion in Iran. He hoped that China would increase its investment in business and trade, and promote the financial cooperation. He also suggested that both sides should cooperate in such fields as transportation, energy, oil and gas, banking, environmental protection, new energy, and heavy industry; and encouraged both sides to establish joint ventures as the strategic position of Iran in the Middle East would bring a lot of favorable opportunities to China.

As the special envoy, Mr. Zhang Yi also provided some suggestions on promoting the Sino-Iran business and trade cooperation. Firstly, both Chinese and Iranian enterprises needed to consolidate the obtained achievements, and take an active part in exploring new cooperation orientations. Secondly, both sides should deepen the “One Belt and One Road” cooperation. Iran is a main partner of China, and both governments should make an overall planning for the “One Belt and One Road” initiative. The governments would lead the way while the enterprises would play a big role. We should encourage enterprises to cooperate in such fields as high-speed rail, railways, nonferrous metal, communications, power, engineering machinery, and industrial parks. At last, both sides should actively develop international capacity cooperation. He pointed out that, the Chinese side was developed in equipment and machinery with a high cost performance. China could provide equipment and technical resources while Iran could offer energy, market and labor resources. Through cooperation, the equipment and technologies of Iran would be improved while its industries would be upgraded.
